Location and Qulifications

What is teleradiology?

Teleradiology allows radiologists to report medical imaging studies remotely, using secure digital systems to receive, interpret, and send reports to referring clinics and hospitals.

Who can work as a tele-radiologist with PRO Radiology?

We work with Australian FRANZCR-qualified radiologists. All radiologists must be appropriately credentialed, hold current AHPRA registration, and maintain relevant professional indemnity insurance.

Do I need to be based in Australia to work with you?

Yes. All our radiologists are required to reside and work within Australia to ensure compliance with local regulations, credentialing requirements, and to support reliable service delivery across Australian time zones.

Equipment and Software

What equipment do I need to report remotely? Who provides the workstation?

You’ll need a reliable high-speed internet connection. PRO Radiology typically provides and ships the workstation, pre-configured with required software. Alternatively, you can use your own setup if it meets our technical and security requirements.

What software do your radiologists use?

Our radiologists report using InteleViewer and Fluency for Imaging (FFI) voice recognition for efficient and accurate reporting.

Is training provided?

Yes. We provide onboarding and one-on-one training sessions to familiarise you with our reporting workflows, RIS/PACS access, and templates.

Workflow & Reporting

Case Types, Timelines and Expectations

What types of studies will I be reporting?

Our workload includes general outpatient referred X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, dental/CBCT. The mix depends on your subspecialty interests and credentialing.

How are studies allocated?

Studies are distributed via our RIS based on your rostered sessions, subspecialty, and availability. There’s flexibility to pick up additional cases during your shifts if desired.

What are the turnaround time expectations?

Routine studies are typically expected within 36–48 hours. Urgent and priority cases have shorter turnaround targets (e.g., 4 hours urgent, 12 hours Priority ).

Registrations and Qualifications

What credentials are required before starting?

Radiologists must hold current AHPRA registration, FRANZCR qualifications, and appropriate professional indemnity insurance. Standard identity verification and credentialing checks are also required as part of the onboarding process.

How long does onboarding take?

On average, onboarding takes 2–3 weeks depending on credentialing turnaround, equipment shipping, and IT configuration.

Is peer review part of the workflow?

Yes. We have an internal peer review and clinical governance process to maintain quality and provide feedback. Participation is part of our clinical quality framework.

Can I choose my working hours?

Yes. You can work full-time, part-time, or ad-hoc sessions, including after-hours and weekend shifts. Many of our radiologists enjoy flexible rosters that fit around other commitments.

How do I communicate with the PRO team?

We use secure email, phone, and messaging for operational queries. For clinical discussions, you can also liaise directly with our medical director or relevant peers.
